Emirates ID Renewal Fee in Dubai (2026)

Last checked:

Your Emirates ID follows your residence. When the residence visa is renewed, the card has to be renewed too, and the fee depends on how many years of residence it covers. Renew late and a daily fine starts to build. This page sets out the published government fees for renewing an Emirates ID in Dubai, the late fine and the replacement fee, each with a link to the official page it comes from.

The figures are government fees as published by ICP (the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security), which issues the Emirates ID for Dubai residents. They are estimates of government fees only. Typing-centre and courier charges are not published officially, and our service fee is separate. For a quote for your case, contact us.

Your residence renewal is a separate cost. In Dubai, the residence visa is renewed through GDRFA Dubai, and ICP's combined residence-and-ID form is not used, so the Emirates ID renewal is its own application with its own fees. For a family residence renewal, GDRFA lists AED 200 + AED 10 Knowledge Dirham + AED 10 Innovation Dirham + AED 20 delivery, plus AED 100 for each year over two years (GDRFA – family residence renewal). The same page lists an AED 500 inside-country fee without saying when it applies, so we confirm the current amount for your case. Family members aged 18 or over also need a medical fitness test, which costs AED 270 for the standard package at Dubai Health (Dubai Health – medical fitness packages).

When can you renew?

ICP accepts a renewal once the card has expired, or when less than six months remain before it expires for non-UAE nationals (ICP). In practice we start the renewal together with the residence renewal so that both cards carry the same dates.

Example estimate

A Dubai resident renews a family residence for two years and renews the Emirates ID on time:

StepGovernment fee
Emirates ID renewal, two years: 2 × AED 100AED 200
Smart application feeAED 100
Estimated Emirates ID renewal feeAED 300

For a three-year residence the same calculation gives AED 400 (3 × AED 100 + AED 100). If the renewal is made more than one month after the card expired, the fine of AED 20 a day is added, up to AED 1,000, so the most a two-year renewal can cost in government fees, including the maximum fine, is AED 1,300. This is our arithmetic from the published fees and is an estimate of government fees only. Our service fee is separate; contact us for your exact total.
